With space for two guests, these trips offer an authentic and relaxed way to fish, explore the lagoon, and spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Our overnight lagoon experiences are about slowing down, enjoying the quietness of the lagoon after dark, having a braai and a few drinks, fishing through the night, and starting the day with coffee and rusks as the sun rises over the water.

For those not wanting to stay overnight, half-day and full-day lagoon trips are also available.

The Experience

Our Lagoon Experiences are centred around fishing from the cabin boat, offering a quieter and more personal way to spend time out on the water.

Led by Matt, who has spent years fishing both locally and internationally, these trips combine local lagoon knowledge with relaxed fishing, an overnight stay, and the unique experience of fishing after dark.

The overnight trips focus on targeting larger species that become more active at night, creating a completely different style of fishing to the daytime lagoon experience.

Your Trip

Trips usually begin in the late afternoon, with guests heading out onto the lagoon to collect fresh bait and settle in before the evening fishing begins. The night is spent fishing, relaxing onboard, enjoying a simple braai and refreshments, and taking in the quietness of the lagoon after dark.

As the sun rises the following morning, coffee and rusks are served before packing up and heading back to shore.

Gear & Bait

We provide all rods, tackle, and fresh bait needed for the trip.

You’re welcome to bring your own gear or combine it with ours depending on your preference. If you have gear that you’d like to bring along but aren’t sure about, Matt will be able to guide you beforehand.

We use fresh bait wherever possible and, if conditions allow, you may even have the opportunity to join Matt in collecting bait before the session.
