Rock & Surf

Our Rock & Surf fishing trips take place on some of Hermanus’ local beaches and are suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced anglers. They’re ideal for locals, holidaymakers and anyone wanting to experience fishing from the shoreline. Depending on the season and conditions, we’ll target species such as steenbras, kob, galjoen, elf, rays and sharks.

Estuary fishing

Our estuary fishing trips take place in the Hermanus estuaries using light tackle and are ideal for families, children, beginners and anyone looking for a more relaxed style of fishing. Depending on the season and conditions, we’ll target species such as steenbras, kob, leervis, elf, rays and sharks.

Our Local Fishing trips are designed for people who want to spend time on the water, explore the Overstrand coastline, and enjoy fishing in a relaxed and natural setting.

Whether you’re casting from the surf, fishing rocky points, or enjoying a session on the lagoon, each trip is shaped around the conditions, the season, and the kind of experience you’re looking for.

Led by local angler Matt, these trips combine local knowledge, great locations, and a genuine love for fishing and the outdoors.

Your Trip

Every fishing trip is planned around weather conditions, tides, season, and the type of fishing experience you’re after.

While a catch can never be guaranteed, every trip is designed to offer an enjoyable, authentic, and memorable fishing experience.

Half-Day Experience

Approximately 4-5 hours, either in the morning or afternoon.

Full-Day Experience

Approximately 8 hours, exploring and fishing some of the best locations.

Gear & Bait

We provide all rods, tackle, and bait needed for the trip, and the gear is selected according to the location and fishing conditions on the day.

You’re welcome to bring your own gear or combine it with ours depending on your preference. If you have gear that you’d like to bring along but aren’t sure about, Matt will be able to guide you beforehand.

We use fresh bait wherever possible and, if conditions allow, you may even have the opportunity to join Matt in collecting bait before the session.

Don’t have a fishing licence? Let us know and we’ll help you arrange one before your trip or lesson. Children under the age of 12 do not require a fishing licence.
